Customized Order Management System

The Team

  • Jonathan O'Brien - Group Leader

Description of Work

  • We will be completing a order taking and management system for a small startup company.  There are a number of unique design challenges for this project, including the company not yet having a name.  However, the bulk of this project will include a ajax pricing system that will dynamically price out a order for the customer, then allow the customer to place the order. The order will then be payed for by the customer, and it will be placed into an incoming order queue in an administration menu.

Duties

  • Jonathan will handle all Design/Programming for this project.

Background Requirements

·         The only stakeholder is Dylan Yonts, the owner and operator of Acute Duplication.

·         This system is being built as an order management system for the startup “Acute Duplication”

·         This system will be used by customers of Acute Duplication to place orders, and by the Acute Duplication team to manage orders placed by customers.

·         It allows the company to capture information about their customers.

Data Type

·         The data is created by the customer; it ends up in the database; customers and administrators will use this data.

Security Plan

·         Administrator – Created via the administration management window in the admin system.

·         Customer - Created by the customer on during the order taking process

·         Appropriate access is controlled by password control systems.

Indexing and maintenance plan

·         Performance will be monitored by random orders being placed to ensure compliance.

·         All performance measurements and maintenance will be completed by the company owner.

This project will consist of only the order taking, tracking, and management system.  It is using a shell header/footer supplied by the client since the actual website content is going to be generated by a third party.
